White Wines

  • GRAN CAVALIER ~ CHARDONNAY DELICATA ~ MALTA

A full flavoured, rich dry white wine produced entirely from Malta grown Chardonnay grapes hand picked from individual pocket sized vineyards. This elegant, hot climate Chardonnay has been fermented in French oak barriques, adding depth and complexity to this distinctive style of unique Maltese Chardonnay.

  • ANTONIN ‘RAMLA VALLEY VINEYARDS’ MARSOVIN ~ GOZO

Antonin Blanc is produced from selected Chardonnay grapes harvested from the Ramla Valley Estate in Gozo and fermented in new oak barrels for 12 weeks. This wine has a fine balance of acidity, American oak and soft buttery flavours. Antonin Blanc is full and round in the mouth with aromas of sweet vanilla and burnt toast flavours.

  • PINOT GRIGIO SANTA MARGHERITA, TRENTINO ALTO ADIGE

The clean, intense aroma and dry flavour with pleasant golden apple aftertaste make Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio a wine of great character and versatility.

  • GAVI DI GAVI MARCHESI DI BAROLO, PIEDMONT

Grapes used in making this wine are selected exclusively in the territory of the commune of Gavi or, more precisely, the famous Rovereto zone. A tenuous straw yellow with bright green reflections; the aroma is intense and refined, fruity and flowery with scents of golden apples and chamomile flowers. The flavour is harmonious and persistent with a good body.

  • LUGANA ‘MELIBEO’ SANTI, VENETO

A wine of appealing distinctiveness. Releasing crisp, fruity aromas that gradually expand to a rich complexity characteristic only of Lugana. The palate is rounded and generous, and has a wonderfully long, savoury finish.

  • PINOT GRIGIO SANT’ ORSOLA, VENETO

A light wine with hints of crisp apples and rose petals that has a crisp yet silky mouth feel and a lovely balance (2007).

  • SOAVE CLASSICO ‘LE TUFAIE’ BOLLA, VENETO

A blend of Trebbiano and Garganega from a special selection of grapes chosen for their aromatics. The wine is called Tufaie because of Tufa –volcanic vineyard soils, which Bolla believes bring minerality to the wine. There is indeed a lovely, wet river stone minerality on the nose, with ripe pear fruit. Seems very ripe and quite full, but it has a delightful lemony, zesty finish with real grip and vivacious punch, and smoky finish.

  • FRASCATI ‘VIGNETO SANTA TERESA’ FONTANA CANDIDA, LATIUM

Pale gold colour; delicate but well-defined bouquet, with fine hints of sage and apple; full, soft but fresh and a lively and very savoury flavour with a definite, pleasantly lingering aftertaste of sweet almonds. A wine of great finesse.

  • GRECO DI TUFO VILLA RAIANO, CAMPANIA

This is a clear, light-gold wine with brighter glints of gold against the light. Honey and almonds, the attractive scent that often attends Southern Italian whites, are displayed against a backdrop of subtle wildflowers and clean white fruit. Full-bodied, almost creamy in texture, the wine fairly coats the tongue with luscious white fruit, flavours reminiscent of clover honey but bone-dry, with steely acidity to provide structure and balance. A very fine wine that shows its ripe texture .

  • FALANGHINA DEL BENEVENTO TERREDORA DI PAOLO, CAMPANIA

This Falanghina is ample and generous in its layers of perfumed fruit. Notes of smoke, minerals and apricots linger on the long, intense finish. This impeccably balanced wine offers great value for money.

  • ANGIMBE CUSUMANO, SICILY

A wine marked by its scent ranging from the perfume of fresh flowers to that of ripe fruit, is born from the union of the Sicilian personality of Insolia grapes and the elegance of Chardonnay grapes. Glorious aromas of apricot, pineapple and peach mix with more perfumed notes. Full and concentrated on the palate with fresh, green apple flavours, clean acidity and a long, mineral infused finish.

  • COLOMBA PLATINO ‘L’ DUCA DI SALAPARUTA, SICILY

A fragrant and aromatic wine with an ability to bring the land of Sicily to expression due to an unyielding respect for tradition.

  • ANTHILIA DONNAFUGATA, SICILY

Made from a blend of Catarratto and Ansonica. The wine shows a precise personality of fruity and floral sensations, round and elegant. Notes of yellow peaches and plums and scents of the Mediterranean vegetation. On the palate, tastiness and softness unite.

  • CORVO GLICINE VINI CORVO, SICILY

An off dry fresh wine made from native grapes. Fruity aromas lead to full flavour on the palate and a hint of almonds.

  • VERMENTINO DI SARDEGNA ‘LA CALA’ SELLA & MOSCA, SARDINIA

Elegant and supple, this single-vineyard wine couples fullness of flavour with an underlying acidity. The wine has a very subtle presence of a natural marine salinity in it, credited to the location of the vineyard.
