    Robust, powerful and well constituted, but also they are fine and elegant, with a full bouquet.

  • CHÂTEAU D’ARMAILHAC 5 IEME CRU CLASSE, PAUILLAC-BORDEAUX ~ FRANCE

    Aromas of stewed blackberry, plum skin, barnyard earth, gooseberry, anise, dark chocolate and a touch of boot polish. A touch thin on the palate which emphasizes gravelly earth. The medium-length finish is surprisingly fresh.

  • CHÂTEAU LYNCH-BAGES 5 IEME CRU CLASSE, PAUILLAC-BORDEAUX ~ FRANCE

    Dark ruby core with no lighting at the rim. On the nose, there are black fruits, plums, tobacco, cigar box and minerals. On the palate, it is medium bodied with sweet tannins.

    Youthful but able to blossom over the evening. Notes of graphite, earth, dark berries, tobacco. Nicely medium bodied on the palate.

    5 ieme Cru Classe, Pauillac-Bordeaux ~ France Delicate nose of violet and black currant. Hints of vanilla and liquorice on the palate. Medium finish with a soft, round tannins. Great wine for the money. Perfectly ripe fruit.

    1er Grand Cru Classe B, Saint Emilion-Bordeaux ~ France. What a fantastic nose on this wine! Just a ton of Bordeaux goodness with berries, earth, a touch of brett and it only gets bigger and bigger with air. Palate has a great mix of fruit, earth and drying tannins on the finish.

  • CHÂTEAU ANGELUS

    1er Grand Cru Classe B, Saint Emilion-Bordeaux ~ France Dark purple. Gorgeous nose with plums, blackberries, cherries, coffee and sweet tobacco. Mid-full bodied with stiff, dry tannins, very high acidity and subtle fruit. Long finish. Still very youthful-needs time.

  • NUIT-SAINT-GEORGES 1ER CRU ‘LES CROTS’ A. BICHOT, BURGUNDY ~ FRANCE

    Very deep and bright garnet red hue. Still young, it is elegant and delicate with aromas of incense, perfumed mushroom, peony and violets. The body is beautiful, with an harmonious structure underlined by fine new oak.

  • CLOS DE VOUGEOT ‘GRAND CRU’ FAIVELEY, BURGUNDY ~ FRANCE

    Darker ruby. Nose of blackberries, coffee, floral, earth. Smoothly textured on the palate with layers of black raspberry and cherry fruit laced with subtle iron and mineral notes turning subtly sweet on the back end. Finish was a long echo of slightly tart fruit and iron.

    Loaded with sweet tannins and oak, plenty of black fruits and fresh acidity.

    Very powerful with orange tinge colour. Beautiful bouquet.

    Pieve Santa Restituita-Gaja, Tuscany ~ Italy. Deep red colour, absolutely beautiful on the nose, intriguing and absorbing, with dark cherry, perfume floral notes, mocha vanilla from the oak, and just an interesting hint of thyme. Wonderfully complex and integrated. Smooth, velvety palate, with a good sense of structure undergirding it.
