In 1999, the idea of a compilation mixed by Stéphane Pompougnac
in the spirit of his spins at Hotel Costes was born. This one shot
project soon became a full success series, bringing in a unique "à
la française" vibe in music from countries and cultures as different
as the UK, France, Germany, Sweden, Brazil.
Having grown up in South-West France, Stéphane Pompougnac,
now 38, started his career at the Palace and Queen
Clubs in Paris, he then moved to the more legendary Bains Douches,
a spawning ground for many up-and-coming DJ’s looking to make a name
for themselves in more opulent circles.
Spotted here by Jean-Louis Costes, owner of the now
well-known Hôtel Costes,
Stéphane brought his influential style to the sumptuous surroundings
of Paris’ most coveted celebrity stopover (guests include the likes
of the
Rolling Stones,
Madonna, Bruce Willis, Emma Bunton, Kylie
Minogue
and Craig
David.)

The doors open at 7pm, for dining guests, and 8:30pm for non-dining
guests.
There will 2 sound system setups on the night of the event –both
connected to the same output, enabling everyone to enjoy the same
music, without disturbing restaurant goers.
The evening will start off with local DJ, DJ Chang from Miami, who has
been playing in Bahrain for the past three years. He will playing
the warm up slot and will be assisted by a live Saxophonist.
At 11pm, we bring you the unique lounge sounds of Hotel Costes, with
Resident DJ and ProducerStephane
Pompougnac. He will start his
set inside the Restaurant, but people will be able to see him from
all areas in the venue, through screens that will be placed inside
and outside the venue.
12am, he will move to the Lounge / Bar area until 2am to play a bit
more up tempo. People from the Restaurant area will also be moving
to this area. The Lounge / Bar area has a capacity of +/- 500
people, and the Restaurant area can handle 170 + people seated.
This event will be one of the
biggest on the Bahrain calendar for 2005.
